Meridian Waste Begins Service in Harlem Jan. 1
First Municipal Contract for Expanding Waste Service Provider
AUGUSTA, Ga. (Dec. 26, 2018) – Meridian Waste, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, will begin providing trash, recycling and bulk item waste pickup to about 2,000 Harlem, Ga., residents on Jan. 1.
“We are proud to kick off our first Georgia municipal contract right here in the great city of Harlem,” said Bobby Williams, area president for Meridian Waste. “We look forward to building a long-standing partnership with the residents of Harlem by providing quality environmental services they can depend and a community in which they can be proud to call home.”
Services include once-a-week trash, every-other-week recycling, and every week bulk waste collection of no more than two items. Residents have already begun receiving their new 95-gallon Meridian Waste garbage cart and 65-gallon recycling cart. In addition to new carts, Meridian Waste is providing a local customer care team based in Augusta, Ga., new collection trucks to service the city, and a supervisor within the city on all collection days.
Recycling will be picked up every other Thursday in the 65-gallon cart. Items acceptable for recycling include: aluminum, cardboard, mixed paper and plastics labeled one through seven. White goods or appliance pick-up is available for an additional fee when scheduled with Meridian Waste in advance.
