Meridian Waste Adopts a Family for the Holidays

Meridian Waste Missouri Teams Up with the Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service to Adopt-A-Family for the Holidays

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Meridian Waste Missouri, LLC, a subsidiary of Meridian Waste, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, has joined the Saints Joachim and Ann Care Service to make the holiday season brighter for a family of nine in the greater St. Louis area.

“Meridian Waste Missouri employees have pitched in to help a family in our community have a brighter holiday season, and we couldn’t be happier to continue this tradition as a team,” said Area President Bob Mathis. “This is our second year participating in the program, and we plan to continue for many more. Helping a family at Christmas brings us immeasurable joy, especially given the global events of the last year that touch each and every one of us.”

The Saints Joachim and Ann Care Service promotes a culture that values excellence and continual improvement. The organization’s mission is to serve those in crisis and prevent homelessness and hunger. The nonprofit’s Adopt-A-Family program assures that parents with children and the elderly will have Christmas by providing them with food and gifts. Recipients are current participants in other programs provided by the Care Service. Each family member will receive at least three wrapped gifts from a specific wish list provided by the family. Lastly, to bring home the holiday spirit, a gift card for a meal of their choice will be provided by Meridian Waste to ensure the family can enjoy a warm, holiday dinner together. More than 700 families benefit from this program annually.

After the Thanksgiving holiday, Meridian Waste employees began collecting gifts for the family of nine that they have adopted. The multigenerational family consists of a single father, his mother, and seven children, whose ages range from two months old to 20 years of age.
