MERIDIAN WASTE MISSOURI EMPLOYEES COLLECT 200+ TOYS FOR TOTS

FORISTELL, Mo. (December 22, 2022) – Meridian Waste Missouri LLC, a subsidiary of Meridian Waste, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, collected more than 200 toys for local children during its second annual Christmas collection in partnership with the local Marine Foundation Toys for Tots chapters.

“Collecting toys and gifts for children throughout the holidays really warms our hearts, and this year we have doubled our donations,” said Meridian Waste Missouri Government and Community Relations Manager Barbie Russo. “The assistance is special to us as we give to recipients who are local friends and neighbors,” said Russo. “The Marine Foundation will distribute the items in Meridian Waste service areas, including Lincoln, Pike, and St. Charles counties bringing kindness to children up to  17 years of age,” Russo said.

Each year, Meridian Waste supports families through participation in a local holiday program. In the past two years, the regional team voted to support Marine Foundation Toys for Tots. Meridian Waste’s three facilities are designated as official drop-off locations for employees, customers, and community members to deliver toys for the annual drive. This year, Meridian Waste Missouri customers and local businesses, along with municipal accounts, also decided to participate as drop-off locations.

“Going forward, we hope to gather enough toys to ‘Fill the 40,’ which is our charitable giving program. We work to collect toys and supplies needed by a nonprofit organization, equivalent to the volume of a 40-yard roll-off construction dumpster,” said Russo. “We would love to see every child with something to open under the tree on Christmas to preserve the love, joy, and humanity of the holiday season.”
