The Employee of the Month for March 2020, is CFS employee Crystal Yeckley. Crystal is a real team player and is a valuable asset to the company.

The president mentioned the vital work of frontline workers, including solid waste and recycling workers, during his March 31 COVID-19 media briefing.

Catherine M of Florissant, MO, had a special message for the Meridian Waste team today. While out on his route, she stopped driver Frank L. and thanked him for his service to the waste management industry. Waste management is on the frontlines of removing the waste generated by the current public health crisis. Without regular waste removal, the disease can spread.

Slow Down to Get Around (SDTGA) is a national safety campaign that reminds motorists to drive more carefully when near waste and recycling collection vehicles. Being struck by a motorist is a leading cause of death for waste and recycling collection employees, and with proper awareness, is completely preventable.

Waste removal keeps communities healthy and germ-free.

Waste management is the collection, transportation and disposal or garbage, sewage, recyclables and other waste products in a safe and efficient manner.

Meridian Waste Hosts Earth Day Coloring Contest for Children

Meridian Waste, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, is hosting an Earth Day-themed coloring contest, “Brightening the World” for children ages 5-10 to help keep them stimulated while spending more time at home.

The Eagle Ridge crew followed their noses to a delicious surprise breakfast grilled by General Manager Roger Smith.

According to a report from Waste360, lithium batteries tossed in the garbage may cause fires. The number of reported waste and recycling facility fires that occurred in the U.S. and Canada in January 2020 totaled 22.
