Garbage Men & Women Doing Good in the Community
Here you will find a selection of our stories from the communities we serve and the environmental heroes who are part of the Meridian Waste team.
The day’s festivities started with outdoor activities including an inflatable obstacle course and a bounce house, Meridian Waste’s signature Touch-A-Truck field, egg painting, face painting, and outdoor games. Hayride tours of the construction and demolition debris landfill were additional activities and helped citizens understand the need for recycling and disposal facilities. And that well-run disposal facilities can be clean and green while providing a vital infrastructure asset to the community.
Free lunch and shaved ice complimented the 1,200-egg Easter Egg Hunt. The hunt fields were divided into three age groups from two to four years of age, five to seven years of age, and eight to 10 years of age for safety and fairness purposes. In each field, ten hand-painted Earth Eggs were hidden, and each lucky child who found an egg received a special prize. All egg hunt participants received an Earth-themed Easter bag complete with wildflower seeds, candy, bubbles, and information about Meridian Waste’s national Earth Day Coloring Contest.
