The Meridian Waste Shotwell Environmental Park Summer Celebration served as a successful community “Splash”
Meridian Waste North Carolina LLC, celebrated its second annual Summer Splash Bash at the newly named Shotwell Environmental Park on Saturday, August 20, with more than 300 attendees from surrounding communities.
Guests enjoyed the free event, including waterslides, bounce houses, games, and a complimentary lunch. Activities included Meridian Waste’s signature Touch-A-Truck display with participants appreciating a variety of trucks and heavy machinery used in the environmental services industry.
“Summer brings many simple joys of spending time outdoors, and we’re happy to open our Environmental Park for the local community to see what the landfill really looks like,” said Area President Josh Daher. “We have a lot of clean, green space, perfect for lawn games and a summer picnic. We were very pleased to share the wonderful day with our neighbors,” said Daher.
Special guest Representative James Robertson stopped by to join the festivities and learn more about the landfill and our efforts to keep the environment clean and green. Rep. Robertson, Meridian Waste Area President Josh Daher, and Meridian Waste Chief Marketing Officer Mary O'Brien are pictured above.
