Meridian Waste to Begin Sumter County Residential Garbage Service March 31st
New Garbage Cart Distribution Underway
Sumter County, AL (March 19, 2205) – Meridian Waste Mississippi, LLC, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, is proud to be Sumter County, AL’s new environmental services provider starting Monday, March 31st. Leading up the contract start, Meridian Waste is distributing one new 95-gallon garbage cart to all non-incorporated Sumter County, AL residents beginning on March 17th through the end of the month.
In preparation for the new contract, residents should be aware of their collection guidelines:
- Garbage collection is once a week and your service day will be printed on your cart lid.
- Carts should be placed curbside the night before or by 6:00am on your service day.
- All waste materials must be bagged to limit trash spillage during collection and contained inside your 95-gallon cart. Only the contents of the cart will be collected. If you regularly have excess bags, extra carts are available for an additional monthly fee (contact Customer Care for details). Up to two (2) extra carts are allowed.
- Carts must be no more than three (3) ft. from the curb or edge of public road and must be at least three (3) ft. away from any standing object (such as mailboxes, vehicles, fences, etc.).
Meridian Waste encourage all residents to review the printed Collection Guidelines placed on the cart or available online at MeridianWaste.com/SumterCoAL. These resources share important information regarding collection services as well as contact information.
IMPORTANT: If a garbage cart has NOT been delivered to your residence by the end of the day on March 24th, please contact Sumter County Administration Anex at (205)-652-2731. Meridian Waste will work diligently to ensure all residents have one cart prior to the contract start.
Meridian Waste’s team of solid waste professionals look forward to providing Sumter County residents quality environmental services starting on March 31st. Our goal will always be to make taking out the trash just a little bit easier for all our valued customers.
